My Gears Transport Set

This is one of the best construction toy sets for younger kids that we have seen in our 12+ years of reviewing children's products. The blocks, wheels, gears and other components that make up this 114-piece set are sized just right for smaller hands to manipulate and connect firmly to one another using nothing more than gentle pressure. Children find each of the 8 models for which step-by-step instructions appear in the activity booklet (7 different cool-looking vehicles and a robot) to be immensely satisfying to build and endlessly fun to play with once assembled. The ease with which the pieces can be connected and repositioned also inspires plenty of exciting experimentation in which youngsters improvise building their own original models, knowledgeably putting to use the principles of gears they learned from the activity booklet's models. Among the many benefits of exploring these wondrous hands-on STEAM activities are the development of enhanced creative and logical thinking, problem solving, and early engineering skills!
